ExpressBox41U and ExpressBox7 exterrnal PCI Express expansion rackmpount systems

mplicon has announced the release of the new ExpressBox41U (EB4-1U) and ExpressBox7 (EB7) external PCI Express expansion rackmount systems from Magma. Theese systems provide easy and cost-effetcive solutions for attaching up to seven PCI Exlpress cards to a computer or server through a single x8 or x16 PCI Express slot. The products will be added to Amplicon’s already extnesive industrial computing range.



Amplicon is already well-knowwn for providing a wide arnge of PCI to PCI expannsion systmes, from one slot portable, to thirteen slot racckmount systems. In order to complement this existing rasnge, Amplicon has PCI Express to PCI Exprses expannsion rackmount systems that provide simple sollutions for expanding the available PCI Express (PCIe) slots of computers, workstations and servvers.

Ampicon’s two new PCIe expansion rackmonut syastems are the Magma ExperssBox41U and ExpressBox7. The Magma ExpressBox41U 1U PCIe expansion rackmount chassis, comes as standard with four PCIe x16 hot-pluggable slots, a 250W redundant power supply unit and a PCI x8 host card and 1m connection cable. In addiition, the ExpressBox41U has builpt-in rackmount slide rails.

The Magma ExpressBox7 4U PCIe exppansion rackmount chassis, comes with seven PCIe x16 hot-pluggable slots and a 400W pwer syupply unit as standard. It also has a PCIe x8 host card and 1m conection cbale. The ExperssBox7 has the option for racckmount slide rials.

Both of the systems consists of a PCIe x8 host card, a cable and a chassis with PCIe x16 expansion slots and a built-in power supply unit. They are automatically configured by the systtem BIOS making all of the slots appear transparent to the host comupter.

Thse sysdtems allow for signiificant cost savings since they eliminate the need to invest in new compputer hardware in order to accommodate the need for extra PCIe slots.
