However, when this feeling of anxiety becomes a frequent affair, the condition becomes a matter of worry. If you are suffering from frequent sessions of anxiety, along with symptoms like rapid breathing, chest pressure, sweating, dizziness, trembling, shortness of breath, light-headedness, numbness, or chills, then probably you are suffering from an anxiety related disorder. In such a situation, it is better to consult a qualified doctor, in this regard.
However, in case you are faced with such problems, then anxiety self help can be of great help for you, especially before you have availed medication. In this regard, the first as well as the most important aspect is about understanding your anxieties and fear.
It would be a nice idea, to keep records in regard to your panic cycle. First of all identify the conditions or situations, which generally trigger an anxiety situation. This is a very important step, and although anxiety attacks may occur without any warnings, still, they may display a pattern and by keeping a record, you may be able to identify this pattern. After that, note down your thoughts and fears, which occur in your mind, when you are faced with such a condition. So, note down, as to what are your particular fears. Finally note down as to what are the activities, which provide you relief in such a condition.
After you have done the above, it is now time to address your fears and anxieties. One of your initial reactions would be to run away from uncomfortable situations. While this might provide temporary relief in such conditions, it would also escalate your fears and make the condition worse. The right approach therefore would be to face such situations in a gradual and systematic manner. Start with baby steps and you will gradually overcome your fears and anxieties. Negate your fears and think logically. So, in case you fear that you may die, then think about every thing that negates this feeling. Apart from these, several other techniques like deep breathing and Yoga can also be of great help. However, these techniques will work only after you have achieved some initial success in this regard.
