The Shaman Healing Art of Egg Cleansing

Have you ever heard of the shaman healing method called egg cleansing? Egg cleansing, commonly referred to as La Limpia in Spanish is a unique form of shamanic healing that uses a raw egg and smoke to energetically cleanse a client's aura and to help them with their healing.
Egg cleansings are common throughout central and south America, often performed by the local Curandera (healer). Until now, this ancient technique has not been relatively unknown outside of mesoamerica.
During the healing session, a raw egg is run over the body of the person receiving the treatment. The egg is believed to absorb negative energy from different parts of the body. Illness, stress, energy stagnation and many more ailments are thought to be alleviated by performing the cleanse.


Smoke is also used to cleanse the auric field around the body. In Mexico, the smoke is usually produced from burning copal, the dried sap from the Copal tree. Copal is considered sacred among Mayans and the various indigenous peoples who perform the egg cleansing.
One of the most magical parts of the egg cleanse takes place after the cleanse when the shaman reads the client’s egg. After a session, the egg is dropped into water and read. True seers have the ability to interpret how the yolk and egg white is suspended in the water, enabling the seer to facilitate the client's understanding and ability to work with their own life issues.
After an egg cleans, the client typically feels lighter and has an overall sense of well-being.
